ACTEA eNews, September 2000In this message:
1. Introducing ACTEA eNewsWith the growing access to e-mail by ACTEA-related institutions and interested individuals, it has become apparent that announcements and information can be quickly and inexpensively disseminated and exchanged between ACTEA constituents as never before. The potential benefit of ACTEA eNews was demonstrated through its initial use in announcing the February ACTEA/NEGST All-Africa Conference for Theological Educators. A considerable number of schools first became aware of the Conference through ACTEA's e-mail service. By expanding this service, ACTEA eNews intends to be a channel for the periodic exchange of news, information, and resources on behalf of ACTEA-related institutions, theological programmes, supporting organisations, and interested individuals. 2. ACTEA West Africa Conference PlannedACTEA is pleased at this time to announce the second West Africa Regional Conference for Theological Educators. Schools Move Toward AccreditationACTEA is pleased to announce that several schools have recently moved forward in the accreditation process. ACTC Affiliates have met core academic standards and have committed themselves to achieve ACTEA accreditation. KHBC offers programmes at the diploma and first degree level. The Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (NEGST) was recently approved for candidacy for accreditation with ACTEA for its post-graduate programmes. This indicates that ACTEA anticipates that NEGST will be able to qualify for accreditation in the near future. Earlier this year NEGST co-sponsored with ACTEA the All-Africa Consultation for Theological Educators.
